GOLF IN SWEDEN

 FIRST CLUBS

The first Golf in Sweden was played on a private Estate in Ryfors. In 1888 an english architect, Edvard Milner, laid out a 6 holes course in the garden and a couple of years later his son remade the layout to 9 holes. This course was open till 1920, just for friends to the Sager family. A picture of Ida Sager is the first known picture of a swedish ladygolfer. In 1986 a new golfclub, Ryfors, was founded and a course was laid out on the same estate.
